New Baronial Poll/Investiture Information

Hear now, good folk of Donnershafen, and heed the words of your sworn Baron and Baroness!

Though it feels but a turning of the tide since we first took up the mantle to stand as shield and banner for this fair Barony, the Norns now spin a new thread. By the Law of the Middle Kingdom, the hour has come for us to lay down the coronet and call forth those who would bear it next in honor of Donnershafen.

On the twelfth day of March, our steadfast baronial seneschal shall open the gates to Letters of Intent, and these shall be received no later than the tenth day of April.

On the twenty-fourth day of April, the polling shall begin, and the voices of the people shall be gathered until no later than the fifteenth day of May. When all words are tallied and bound, they shall be sent forth to Their Royal Majesties, for it is Their sacred Right and high Privilege to name the next who shall take up the mantle.

By the middle of July, we hope to hear the Crown’s decree. The chosen ones shall be invested at Vikings Come Home in September, before kin and hearthfire.

Though we speak of successors, know this: the Law allows many worthy forms. A Baron and Baroness. Two Barons. Two Baronesses. Or a single soul strong enough to stand alone. Let none doubt that courage and honor weigh more than number.

Through all this turning of seasons, we remain as we have always been — open of hall and heart. Should any warrior, scholar, or noble soul wish to learn of the duties, the burdens, and the glory of this mantle, we shall speak with you openly or in quiet counsel. Send word by raven (or email, as the scribes call it), and we shall make time.

With full hearts we give thanks to you, our beloved populace of Donnershafen, for granting us the honor to serve. To stand for this Barony has been a treasure beyond silver and gold.
