Letter of Intent
Unto Their Royal Majesties Felix and Madeleina, King and Queen of the Middle Kingdom; Their Excellencies Ivar and Marina; and the proud populace of the Barony of Donnershafen do Sergeant Kjell Smiðr and The Honorable Lady Isabel Taylor send their warmest greetings.
Word has reached our ears that Baron Ivar and Baroness Marina, having completed their term of services, prepare to step down from their position. By submission of this letter of intent, we humbly request the honor of being considered as the next Baron and Baroness of Donnershafen.
In the Northernmost reaches of the Middle Kingdom lies a great treasure. Though many travelers are charmed by the colorful autumn splendor or golden sand, we found the greatest wealth to be in the membership. Donnershafen is rich with craftspersons, artisans, scholars, and those who tirelessly work to serve our society.
Donnershafen has held a special place in our hearts since Isabel first traveled to Vikings Come Home. Trouble with the transportation threatened to leave Isabel stranded. Members of the Barony, led by the Baron and Baroness at the time, came to the rescue. Isabel was welcomed with open arms, proclaimed as family, and the vessel was fixed. Drawn to the beauty of the north, we acquired lands within the Barony and have participated in many baronial events and gatherings.
Kjell is known in the Society as a blacksmith and woodworker. He served as Pentamere Regional Archery Champion and shot for Midrealm 3 years on the Midrealm Champions Team. Kjell, a member of Darkyard, fights with Legio Draconis as well as serving on command staff. As a marshal, he wishes to increase the number of official fight practices in Donnershafen, as well as continue to foster growth in all martial activities. As a craftsperson, he hopes to ensure the recognition of those who have made this barony so rich with their talents and skills.
Isabel is known in the Society for her photography and service. Officially, she served as both MOAS for Shire of Altenburg and Exchequer for the Barony of Roaring Wastes, as well as event steward and is currently the Kingdom’s Clerk of the Roster. In addition, she has served lunch tavern, 3 years as head of water bearing for Legio Draconis, MOL, and royalty staff. She hopes to foster service in others.
If chosen for this distinct honor, we would strive to continue to foster and grow the alliances created among the neighboring Baronies and throughout the Kingdom. Friendly relations afford the opportunity to meet and share ideas on topics such as recruitment and retention, which are likely to prove important in our post-pandemic society. As we have been known to travel for event attendance, representing Donnershafen in this manner would be our pleasure.
Having received a calling to serve, we hope that we are found worthy.
Yours In Service,
Sergeant Kjell Smiðr and The Honorable Lady Isabel Taylor
